What Does Being a Part of Our Competition Team Entail?
Students accepted into this program must first be evaluated in several subjects by 2 to 3 of our competition instructors. They will be evaluated in such areas as technique, rhythm and timing, flexibility, jumps and turns, showmanship, learning potential, etc. Once accepted into the company, students will be assigned a level of curriculum. This curriculum will include various technique, as well as choreography classes. They will be required to attend these classes 2 evenings per week. During the year they may be required to attend extra practices on the weekends. Our Company consists of students between the ages of 4 to 20. Students will attend between 3 – 5 competitions in the spring. We also occasionally have performances at local festivals, pageants, or talent shows.
Our Competition Program Receives National Recognition
In January of 2004 our studio was selected as one of 50 studios in the nation to be featured in an article published by Dance Spirit Magazine. This article offered a special profile of studios that embody the spirit of dance and highlighted each as “Making Moves at Competition”. We are extremely proud to have been selected as one of only three studios from Ohio.
